BACKGROUND

LAIS Director, Shaddai Livingston takes pride in her spirituality. During her time living in Asian countries, she developed a close connection with Hinduism. She’s visited various countries with Hindu influence including Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha. Chakra alignment and clearing plays an integral role in her spiritual and personal development and she is not alone. The study of the 7 chakras has become popular among the African American community and the Chakra Music Festival aims to pay homage to this energy-centered belief while also offering opportunities to local and Louisiana based artists.

PURPOSE

The "chakras" are energy points in the body that support your mid body and spirit. The Chakra Music Festival is a 7 hour event that focuses on opening each chakra for 1 hour with various genres of music.
